  • When and where is the event?
    The Great S’more Mud Run is Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Camp Tapawingo, 1450 Hickory Point Road, Metamora, Illinois 61548.
  • How do I register?
    Register for the Great S’more Mud Run through Get Me Registered.
  • What is the age requirement for the mud run?
    The Great S’more Mud Run Adult S’more ages 14 and older
    The Great S’more Mud Run Jr. S’more ages 6-13
    The Great S’more Mud Run Li’l S’more ages 5 and under
  • What are the age categories and the fee to register?
    The Great S’more Mud Run Adult S’more – Ages 14 and older – $50
    The Great S’more Mud Run Jr. S’more – Ages 6-13 – $35
    The Great S’more Mud Run Li’l S’more – Ages 5 and under – $25
    Please Note: The fee for all adults of $50. If you choose to run the Junior level, the cost is still $50 per adult.
  • How long is the mud run?
    The Great S’more Mud Run course is approximately 3 miles. The race will include tons of mud and 14 obstacles. The Jr. race is about 2 miles and includes 9 obstacles. The Li’l S’more run is 9 super fun obstacles for little ones.
  • Can I run with my child?
    Adults who want to run the Jr. S’more race with their child must register and complete the necessary waiver. Adults will be charged $50 to run the junior run with their child. Adults who want to run the Li’l S’more with their child do not need to register, but are welcome to sign up and receive a 2021 T-shirt. If a parent is already registered and participating in the race, they do not have to register again if they wish to race with their child.
  • What if I can’t do an obstacle?
    No problem, just go on to the next obstacle!
  • Is The Great S’more Mud Run a sanctioned race?
    The Great S’more Mud Run is a fun run and not a chip-timed event.
  • What wave am I in?
    When registering you are asked which wave is best for you. We will try to accommodate as close as we can. However, waves may be adjusted before race day. Emails will be sent out with final waves and helpful instructions.
    Mud Run Waves:
    8:30 a.m. – 3 mile (ages 14 and over ONLY)
    8:40 a.m. – 3 mile (ages 14 and over ONLY)
    8:50 a.m. – 3 mile (ages 14 and over ONLY)
    9:00 a.m. – 3 mile (ages 14 and over ONLY)
    9:10 a.m. – 3 mile (ages 14 and over ONLY)
    9:20 a.m. – Jr. event (ages 6 to 13 only)
    9:30 a.m. – Jr. event (ages 6 to 13 only)
    9:40 a.m. – Jr. event (ages 6 to 13 only)
    9:50 a.m. – Jr. event (ages 6 to 13 only)
    10:00 a.m. – Jr. event (ages 6 to 13 only)
    10:10 a.m. – Jr. event (ages 6 to 13 only)
    10:20 a.m. – Jr. event (ages 6 to 13 only)
    10:30 a.m. – Jr. event (ages 6 to 13 only)
    10:45 a.m. – Li’l event (ages 5 and under)

  • What do I receive with my registration?
    You’ll get an awesome The Great S’more Mud Run T-shirt, Girl Scout Cookies, a goody bag, and a warm and fuzzy feeling that you’ve support Girl Scouts!
  • How will I receive my race packet?
    Packets will be given out on race day, August 7, 2021. Packet pick up will be available beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the race course.
  • Is there a deadline to register?
    Online registration is open until August 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Walk-ins on race day are welcome! Register by July 16, 2021 for a guaranteed T-shirt. T-shirts are not guaranteed after this date.
  • Can my team/group raise additional contributions for the event?
    Yes, participants may start a team/group to help raise additional for the cause. Just click on the Start a Team button and begin!
  • Can friends came?
    Everyone is welcome! The more the merrier! Bring family, friends, and anyone wanting to check out the race. If you’re coming out to watch a friend run, volunteering at an obstacle can give you a great view of the course that not all spectators get to see. Plus, volunteers get a free T-shirt! Click here to volunteer for the event.
  • How early should I arrive?
    Arrive at least 1 hour earlier than your wave time.
  • What should I bring?
    Wear lightweight clothes that won’t get heavy when wet and muddy. Old shoes are a must because it might be the last time you wear them! You’ll also want to bring a clean set of clothes and shoes to change into after you are finished. Outdoor showers will be available at the end of the course.
  • What should I do with my stuff?
    We will have a bag check available.
  • Will there be food?
    We will have snacks and water for runners and volunteers. Kona Ice will be at event. You can bring food and drinks if you wish, but no alcohol is permitted on the property.
  • Is first aid available?
    Yes, we will have first aid available.
  • Can I bring my pet?
    No pets allowed. But service animals are welcome.
  • Where do I park?
    There will be parking available for $5 cash. Carpooling is recommended.
  • Do you need volunteers?
    We need LOTS of volunteers. You can go to the Volunteer tab of this website and sign up to volunteer, or click here to volunteer.
  • What is the refund or transfer policy?
    There are no refunds and no transfers. Rain or shine we run! Rain makes more mud and that makes more fun! Please note that waves may be postponed in case of life-threatening weather.

CDC Guidelines for COVID-19 Statement:
While The Great S’more Mud Run will look slightly different – we will adhere to all CDC/IDPH guidelines. Groups should have limited interaction with each other. Runners and volunteers should come with a mask for the day. Masks will be required at all times that physical distancing is not possible, unless running the course. All participants will be required to have their temperature checked at registration. If you are exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms – please do not attend. Procedures are subject to change as state and federal guidelines change. (March 29, 2021)
